Sales are suspended when daily limits are met
On Friday, following steep losses from the previous day, Feeder Cattle prices continued their downward spiral. The decline hit the daily limit of $8.25, leading to a suspension of Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) for the day. The LRP Policy mandates that, “[s]ales of all affected feeder cattle SCEs will be suspended in the event of a limit movement in any relevant CME Feeder Cattle futures.” The continuation of LRP sales for Feeder Cattle on Monday will depend on the market’s response to these fluctuations.
